Release | Rusty Glover Leads Lieutenant Governor's Race According to Latest Straw Poll



Montgomery, AL (April 24, 2018) -- In a show of tremendous grassroots support, Rusty Glover has won the latest straw poll in Alabama’s Lieutenant Governor race.

“I am extremely pleased to see the results of this poll,” states Glover. “It shows the momentum that is building for my campaign as a direct result of the hard work I’m putting in across our great state.” 

Glover is gaining extensive grassroots support across the entire state and will have traveled to each of Alabama’s 67 counties in the next few weeks.

“For me, this race is about putting the people of Alabama first. As Lieutenant Governor, I will be a leader and listen to what is important to the people of our state. "

The poll – conducted at the Wetumpka Tea Party's 2018 River Region Candidate Fair – is just the latest event to show Glover’s momentum.

As a native of Mobile, Glover has served in the Alabama Legislature for 17 years as a member of Alabama House of Representatives (2002-2006) and Senate (2006-present). Glover is a graduate of B.C. Rain High School, Faulkner State Community College and the University of South Alabama. He retired after 25 years of teaching from Mary G. Montgomery High School in Semmes, where he lives with his wife, Connie. Together they have two daughters, Kellie and Katie; a son-in-law, John McGraw; and a new grandson, Beau Monroe McGraw.
